Systems and Software Support Engineer
We currently have a vacancy for a Systems and Software Support Engineer, fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out in the company's premises. The successful candidate will be integrated in the Support Team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client's IT team on site.
Job Description
- Operating system installation, configuration and management (MS Windows, Linux);
- Hardware, software and network support;
- Helpdesk support and training for users;
- Maintenance of operational documentation and existing backup systems;
- Corrective and evolutive maintenance of internal applications (PHP, MySQL);
- Administration and installation of virtual operating systems (VMware);
- Cooperate with other Technical Assistance Departments of the company, in view to resolve technical issues;
- Show persistence and seek alternatives and solutions, respecting deadlines as well as operational manuals and instructions.
Your skills
- University degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, with minimum of 3 years of experience in IT;
- Experience with the MS Windows and Linux operating systems;
- Basic Network administration knowledge;
- Experience in the deployment of various Open-Source solutions based on LAMP stack (Apache, PHP and MySQL);
- Experience with application servers (Apache Tomcat or other) will be considered an asset;
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English, knowledge of additional EU languages will be considered an advantage;
- Professionalism, flexibility, and team working skills;
- Ability to effectively handle stressful situations, deadline pressures and open to learning;
- Experience in multicultural environments.
