Job Description Operations Manager:
This management position is responsible for the global implementation, operation and operational support of all systems and IT infrastructure within the company\'s network organization. Furthermore the Operations Manager takes responsibility for providing vision, problem anticipation, and problem solving on an enterprise level, as related to a 24/7 IT operations environment. This position reports to the Director of Operations and manages a team of supervisors, IT engineers. Duties include:
1.) Develop and implement tactical plans and supporting budget to ensure successful operation and staff utilization in a 24x7x365 production data center environment.
2.) Define and negotiate SLAs and manages operations staff to achieve SLAs for internal and external customers.
3.) Provide day-to-day leadership, management and direction for subordinates in the operations of production and pre-production environments including systems monitoring, system and data backup, off-site storage, IT security, computer room environment, job scheduling, and systems management reporting.
4.) Develop operations management controls, processes and practices, and ensures that they are implemented and followed (in such areas as job scheduling, change management, and computer room operations) to deliver quality services with high customer satisfaction.
5.) Negotiate contracts and oversees the acquisition, installation, maintenance and repair of data center equipment per existing contracts.
6.) Track and maintain accurate inventory and associated records for equipment, licenses, software, and related items.
7.) Produce service levels consistent with current business needs and future requirements.
8.) Anticipate IT industry future directions and relate to future operations needs and projects. Interface across several channels, acting as a visionary, to proactively assist in defining direction for future projects.
9.) Remain continuously aware of business, technical, and infrastructure issues and act as sounding board or consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions.
10.) May be called upon to provide any level of project management for single or multiple projects.
11.) Is a key player in the operations of domestic and international systems, with significant exposure to users and interfaces with all levels of management and outside vendors.
12.) Establish objectives, policy and procedures for the operations department to ensure that department, division and corporate goals are achieved. Ensure complete, concise, and accurate documentation of operational procedures that are developed and maintained.
13.) Developing work plans and project implementation, and planning and managing the work of the entire team using a structured methodology.
14.) Supervise, analyze and coordinate the work of the operations team to ensure that quality and productivity goals are met.
15.) Track performance of operational staff (productivity, efficiency, quality and attendance etc).
16.) Report and track team reports, corrective actions, attendance, performance-based evaluations. Maintain individual and department development plans.
17.) Assist operational specialists in troubleshooting situation that requires special handling.
18.) Provide feedback to the company regarding service failures and/or customer, performance or other critcal related concerns.
19.) Coach, develop and motivate the operational staff, including supervisors.
20.) Interview and hire operational staff.
21.) Build effective working relationships with Customer Care, Sales and Marketing, Engineering and Development.
22.) Prepare and manage the budget to ensure that the cost objectives are met.
23.) Performs a variety of duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed according to the Operations Manager\'s skills, experience and abilities.

1.) Minimum 4 years in a similar position with a proven track record in a high volume, high growth, quality-driven data center environment.
2.) Has a proven track record of managing diverse technical staff and resources in multiple projects through all life-cycle phases, and can enforce standards, while maintaining a high level of user trust and confidence in the group\'s knowledge of and concern for users\' business needs.
3.) Skills required include expert knowledge of information systems and operational processes, across all platforms.
4.) Ability to plan and manage day-to-day computer operations, systems and database administration, and network operations.
5.) Strong knowledge of business environment, systems architecture, and network operations.
6.) Ability to develop and manage efficient and motivated teams across multiple platforms and in varying environments.
7.) Ability to identify group conflict and facilitate resolution.
8.) Experience in creating and defining new operations/procedures and explaining complex problems or situations.
9.) Project planning and management skills, including ability to identify and assess risk to determine action.
10.) Comfort with making operational decisions, monitoring progress, and reporting results.
11.) Strong leadership and mentoring abilities; ability to aid others in accomplishing annual goals.
12.) Superior organizational skills and excellent communications abilities; expert negotiation skills.
13.) Commitment to system functionality and user satisfaction in rapidly growing and changing environments.
14.) Project management experience and vendor relations skills are a must.
15.) Background experience should include developing work estimates, budgets, and timelines, managing large teams and budgets.
16.) Proven ability to build and manage effective teams. Successful track record of developing and motivating employees. Ability to be an effective leader and role model for employees.
17.) Experience in developing staffing models and internal reporting tools.
18.) Experience in designing and establishing processes and establishing measurement controls to monitor results.
19.) Proven ability to reduce expenses through productivity improvements while maintaining service and quality objectives.
20.) Advanced independent deductive reasoning/problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to generate creative solutions to work situations.
21.) Excellent time management and organizational skills.
22.) Ability to develop/build partnerships and work collaboratively across the organization.
23.) Strategic and tactical planning ability; budgeting and cost control skills; knowledge of how to analyze productivity, costs and budgeting needs.
24.) Knowledgeable in mobile technologies.
