The Samsung SGH-V100 has an MPEG-4 decoder that operates from a GPRS platform and built-in stereo sound reproduction. Its 16 polyphonic sound capability means that audio from the video is more realistic and it's 176 x 220 pixel internal viewing screen incorporates the latest TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor LCD) technology for clear movie images. The SGH-V100 is a folder type phone with the 176 x 220 pixel, viewing screen inside. An external LCD of 96 x 64 pixels alerts the user to incoming calls and provides information on calls, date and time.
TFT-LCDs (Thin Film Transistor LCD) are being introduced by Samsung, for the first time in GSM phones. Using three transistors for each pixel to be able to process red, green and blue the TFT-LCD processes moving images significantly quicker than previous types of screens, has no after image to affect viewing and uses a palate of up to 4,096 colours. Traditionally, LCDs can be difficult to see in direct sunlight or at some angles but these problems do not affect TFT-LCDs.

The SGH-S100 is Samsung's Java technology enabled mobile phone for GPRS networks. The SGH-S100 has an internal STN 65K colour LCD, with a size of 128 x 160 pixels. It supports WAP 1.2 and has 16 polyphonic ringing to allow users to produce highly personalised and true sounds as their own ringing tones.
The phone is GSM triband, operating on GSM900,1800 & 1900. The interior screen is a 2.1" STN 128 x 160 pixels 65K colour. The handset also supports EMS (Enhanced Message Service) and is GPRS enabled to Class 8. The handset weighs 85 grams and comes with a built infrared link.

The SGH-Q200 and Q300 are both GPRS folder phones with dual LCDs, WAP support and a four-way navigation key for easy operation. The SGH-Q300 incorporates 16 polyphonic ringing and the ability to download animations, ringtones and pictures by EMS(Enhanced Message Service) function. It includes cordless connectivity to a PC with IrDA. The SGH-Q200 is simple to use with a one-touch WAP access key. Its compact design makes it a useful and elegant business tool.

The SPH-i330 phone is a mobile with a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) combined. This compact wireless intelligent terminal has a large screen just like a PDA, has been developed in conjunction with Palm and is wholly compatible with all Palm-OS based applications. This CDMA 800/1900 and AMPS terminal is designed for use on CDMA2000 1x networks, has a 256 colour display and 16 polyphonic ringing. It offers wireless Internet connection and the ability to send and receive e-mail while on the move but using an easy to read screen. Like the Palm it has easy text input via writing recognition and a speaker phone for hands free conversation. The PDA element of the SPH-i330 features a touch screen panel, hand writing recognition (Graffiti), address book, scheduler, to-do list, memo pad, calculator, clock and PC synchronisation to allow Palm applications to be downloaded. The data capabilities include web browsing, web clipping available via Palm.net, e-mail, short message service and data synchronisation with a PC. The SPH-i330 also includes infrared communication.

Samsung is also showing its mobile phone that is a camera as well. The CDMA, SCH-X590 has a colour LCD and embedded camera allowing photos to be sent wirelessly. The camera function has a 400% zoom is 10 stages, a light control function and it is possible to set the camera to take a photo automatically after 10 seconds. Up to 100 photos can be saved in CIF (Common Interface Format) format. Photos can be sent mobile to mobile, and mobile to computer via e-mail. Up to four photos can be displayed on the 120 x 160 pixels, 4096 STN colour screen. Like the newly launched SCH-X290, it has 40 polyphonic ringing which allows users to produce highly personalised and true sounds as their own ringing tones. 40 polyphonic is the equivalent of 40 sounds which means that up to 40 different instruments can be represented and be playing simultaneously. The phone's sophisticated sound chip allows it to imitate a wide spectrum of sounds. For users who do not want to settle for another musical tone, the new Samsung phones also have the ability to sample regular human speech as a ring tone allowing users to have the voice of their partner or child as their incoming call alert.

The company has also released the SGH-A500, a basic GSM900/1800 flip phone. There is also the SGH-T100, which like the A500, is a basic GSM flip phone, but comes with a colour TFT-LCD 128 x 160 pixels screen and 16 polyphonic ringtone. The handset is also enabled for EMS (Enhanced Message Service)
