Subject: Serbian language in Latin should be included with all G-products
Dear Sir or Madam,
As a user of different G-products I find the lack of Serbian (Latin) alphabet disappointing. As you might be aware, Google supports Serbian language, but only in Cyrillic. Please note both alphabets, Cyrillic and Latin are equal and in use in Serbia, with predominant Latin alphabet. Today Google "talks" to me only in Cyrillic or English, if I switch. I would like Google to talk to me in same Serbian, but Latin! That would be a win-win.
Many other vendors, including Microsoft, allow user to choose Serbian (Latin) and/or Serbian (Cyrillic). Most popular blogging service (like WP) offer Serbian in both alphabets. Almost all apps with public license support both Serbian Latin and Cyrillic.
Since you might not be familiar with regional settings in Eastern Europe, I'll try to clarify shortly:
- Croatia on Google: uses only Croatian Latin (Hrvatski). That's fine. See google.hr
- Bosnia and Herzegovina on Google: uses both Croatian (Latin) and Serbian (Cyrillic) but they are also in need for Serbian Latin. See google.ba
- Serbia on Google: uses only Serbian (Cyrillic) which does not match reality-check. See google.rs
I'm asking you to add a "new language" in a drop down list called Srpski (latinica), next to Srpski (ćirilica). This is not a big task since every already existing Serbian letter in your Apps just needs its Latin-twin. Best of all, Serbian Latin looks *exactly* like Croatian Latin (no extra letters or shapes).
Let the users choose their preference by themselves.
Please provide me with feedback, I would be happy to clarify any other issues on this you might have.
Thank you for your attention,
xxxxxxxx
