Imam dual boot, Suse i WinXP. Po defaultu se lilo prvi pojavljuje i ako nista drugo ne izaberem, on boot-a SUSE KDE. Medjutim ja bih , po defaultu da se dize Windows. Je li to moguce? Kako i sta treba podesiti ? Neko mi je govorio za 3rd party boot managere? Je li to neophodno? Ako jeste, moze li mi ko preporuciti stogod+neka minimalna uputstva za instalaciju?

Ja kada sam instalirao Mandrake Linux 9.0 instalirao sam i LILO (jer sam imao instaliran WinXP na drugoj particiji) i imao sam opciju da biram koji ce mi sistem biti default. Ne znam kako to izgleda na SUSE Linuxu jer ga nikada nisam koristio, ali siguran sam da ima opcija koja prebacuje default system. Samo je potrazi.

U /etc/lilo.conf stavi da ti default bude windows i nakon toga ponovo instaliraj lilo.

# lilo -v

Naravno pretpostavka je da imas lilo instaliran jer on dolazi po defaultu sa vecinom distribucija.

Pa otvori sa nekim editorem fajl /etc/lilo.conf i tu podesi sta je potrebno. Posle snimi, otvori konzolu i ukucaj lilo i to je to.

Ne znam kakav je LILO u SUSE-tu, ali koliko se secam u Mandrake-u imas u lilo.conf red

Ako (Kao recimo kod mene na Slacku 9.0, to je lilo 22.4.1) nemas ovaj red, onda samo stavi da ti Windows sekcija bude pre Linux-a. Evo ti i deo mog lilo.conf-a:

Kada editujes kucaj komandu lilo i trebalo bi da ti ispise izmedju ostalog:

Samo ako mi neko moze pomoci i reci sta da prepravim kako bi mi pri startanju windows bio defaultni, a i sta bi trebao obrisati tako da mi pise pri podizanju samo

Kao prvo po defaultu suse koristi grub.
a u yastu imas system-boot loader i tamo namestis koji hoces default da ti bude.

za Ubuntu - instalirati program startupmanager:

sudo apt-get install startupmanager

Postle toga, startovati ga iz System --> Admninistration --> Start-Up Manager

Dalje, iz njega je sve jasno, GUI je prilicno jasan.

Ubuntu koristi GRUB (po defaultu)

Taj program postoji i u Gentoo-u

emerge -a startupmanager

Mada šta je teško sa Midnight Commander-om otići u /boot/grub i otvoriti grub.conf,
pa sa F3 markirati šta hoćete da kopirate i sa F5 kopirate i podesite.

Pa kažete posle

grub-install /dev/vaš-disk-sa-boot-particijom

Da bi Windows (Digimon) bio prvi u listi (default), treba ga staviti na prvo mesto u konfiguraciji grub-a.
