..u RedHat-u. Naime sam mi je rezolucija 1024 a htio bih da bude manja tj.800x600. Sa Xconfiguration nisam uspio, kako da editiram i sto da editiram u xf86config? znali neko rjesenje

A pošto sam ja Linux newbie and total lame morat cemo step by step :(.Saljem vam moj XF86Config file kojeg sam editirao ali se rezolucija nije promijenila, gdje grijesim?

najjednostavnije: kucas setup u terminalu pa ides u x configuration ...

Ne treba da stoji

nego

Modes "800x600"

I nije greška u tome kako je fajl editovan, nego koji je fajl editovan. Fajl XF86Config nema veze sa XFree86 ver 4, njegov konfiguracioni fqajl je XF86Config-4, tj.

/etc/X11/XF86Config-4

Inače ovaj fajl možeš urediti i programom "Xconfigurator" (poziva se iz konzole).

Joj joj kakve li su to standardizacije ....
ja eto imam >4.0 xfree i conf fajl mi je kao i uvek bio u /etc/X11/XF86Config

tako vam treba kad koristite redhate mandrake suse i tako te gluposti .....

Takođe treba povesti računa da li se slučajno, nekako, našao XF86Config u home dir-u, vi editujete onaj u /etc/X11/, a ono naravno ništa jer X čita iz home dir-a, deluje smešno, ali meni se desilo, hehe ...

Za rezoluciju: ma samo podesi željenu rezoluciju kao jedinu na gore već opisane načine i vozi, ne svičuješ valjda svake 3 sekunde iz rezolucije u rezoluciju ...

Ej..bas sam svratio ovu L sekciju da vas pitam nesto, kad naleteh na ovaj thread..mislim da se i moj problem krije ovde Pre par dana sam, mislim pri dizanju sistema, video da mi je rez 1024x768, a posto mi je u Win98 rez bila 1152x800 i nesto, hteo sam i da mi Linux ne kaska po tom pitanju. Inace koristim SuSE 8.0..i negde u Xconfiguratoru sam pronasao tu opciju za rezoluciju, promenio je i otisao da spavam. Sutradan ujutro me je pri odizanju sistema (samo Linuxa) docekala poruka "Sync out of view" :1 Win se dize normalno, a L nece. Samo crn ekran i prozor u kom to pise i koji se setka po ekranu. Onda sam isao na System Rescue i tamo mi trazi Rescue Login i sifru za isti, a ja nemam pojma sta je to Kako mogu da vratim sve kako je i bilo?

Tjah, kad smo kod jeresi ...

Imam problem sa novim Mandrake-om 9.1 (to je onaj 'lepi')...

Znaci imam ga na Dell-ovom laptopu i grafika je o.k., ali kad instaliram na 'domaci' noname-brand sa VIA apollo MB i S3 Savage 4 (takodje no name) karticom, slika izgleda nekako... ima sprajtove, ima refresh, ima rezoluciju, ali sve je nekako skroz na skroz zbrljano?

Kada stavim na frame buffer sve radi ali bez akceleracije (Linux leti XFree puzi)...

Nisam ovo imao na mdk 8.1 ili 9.0 ni na jednom XFree -u a na 9.1 isto je sa 3.3.6 i sa 4.3 ?

XFree86 je 4.3.1 rpm i to za smp kernel (ako to nesto znaci)
Kernel je 2.4.21-13mdk
Kartica je 16 MB sdram - noname - no FCC ID...
Ja sam ocajan (pomalo)

Bas sam se sada zaj.. sa display rezolucijom i sta sam otkrio:

Ja namestam da mi umesto 800x600 bude 1024x768 i kao sve prihvati i trazi da se X restartuje, kad sve ponovo isto. Odem ja nazad da vidim sto nece kad rezolucija opet stoji 800x600. MA probavao sam 100 puta dok na kraju nisam promenio colors u manju vrednost, umesto milions of colors ja stavih thousend of colors, namestim na 1024x768... i sve je ok.
