Naravno da nisam odvalio za jezik:
Knowledge of the Bulgarian language should be introduced as a criterion for acquiring Bulgarian citizenship, Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio.
She said the law needs to be changed as the current provisions contain loopholes that allow potential citizenship frauds. “I am glad that there is now a working group considering changes in the legislation and, hopefully, they will soon be brought up for public discussion, the law is an outdated patchwork,” Iotova said. “In my opinion, for the acquisition of Bulgarian citizenship, a criterion for knowledge of the Bulgarian language should be introduced – at the relevant level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. All European countries have included such a requirement, only Bulgaria has not. And how can a person claim they are Bulgarian, if they don’t speak a word of Bulgarian,” Iotova commented.
