Canadian company based in Novi Sad looking for a SQL Server DBA/Developer
Technical Skills
• In depth SQL Server Database Administration experience
• Experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2000/2005/2008 RDBMS on large systems
• Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects
• Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
• Experience of Transactional SQL, and DTS (SSIS)
• Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security
Other Skills
• Good English language skills (both written and verbal)
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Patience
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
• Interested in developing skills on advanced enterprise software
Development Responsibilities
- Data modeling – Creating the physical data model and modifying the model on an as-need basis.
- Creating DTSSSIS packages – This is a new task for a DBA in SQL Server 7.0 and greater.
- Creating the installation scripts – This of course includes the base installation scripts to create the tables, indexes, stored procedures and initial data.
- Stored procedure writing – write, tune and modify stored.
- Performance tuning – manage the performance tuning at the query and index level.
Production Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system.
- Work to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high resilience and performance tuning.
- To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
- Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL development.
- Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
- Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs.
