Position to fill: Software Test Engineer
Location: Clonskeagh, Ireland
Job Description:
Experienced Software Test Engineer is required to join our development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working within the development team on the ServiceOn Data network management product suite. Candidates should have a related degree, backed up with at least 2+ years of relevant experience of working in a test role as part of a QA team in a software development environment. Networking/telecommunications related experience and knowledge of GUI testing tools/methodologies would be an advantage. The role will be attractive to engineers who wish to work in an environment where they are continually acquiring new skills, delivering revenue-generating products and working with the latest technologies. The role also facilitates working within motivated, highly technical and creative teams.
Essential Experience:
- Working knowledge of test development methodologies.
- Writing test specifications, creating test plans, executing test cases and reporting results.
- Ability to work on own initiative, building and executing test plans from scratch.
- Working knowledge of test automation.
- Knowledge of defect tracking lifecycle management.
- Basic knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle.
- Good problem solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Desirable Experience:
- Telecoms Experience (IP/MPLS, ATM, Ethernet, DSL etc)
- Network Management – product development, tools, protocols, operational skills
- GUI testing methodologies and tools
- Scripting
- Rational Unified Process (RUP)
- XML, ANT, Junit
- UNIX and Windows admin knowledge
- Knowledge of Rational Test Tools
- System Performance and Load testing.
- Requirements analysis and Use Case Modeling.

- Good problem solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
