Job Description:
The Product Development Unit RNC&RXI has the responsibility to Develop, Support and Maintain Radio Network Controller (RNC) and Transport Network Solutions (RXI) products for the WCDMA Radio Network. We are currently seeking to recruit test engineers to join our Dublin based WCDMA R&D test organisation. This organisation performs feature verification of the RNC node features using the latest test techniques and processes. These verification activities are performed using in-house developed simulators and traffic generators, and real 3G Network Nodes and handsets.
Responsibilities:
- Integration and Verification of the new RNC traffic features using environments outlined above.
- Writing of Verification Specifications for new RNC function test.
- Troubleshooting, analysis and verification of faults and trouble reports.
- Test analysis and verification of project change requests.
Essential Experience:
- Good Knowledge and Interest of Telecoms essential.
- Understanding of telecoms protocols
- Good working knowledge of test processes and procedures
- Scripting knowledge (e.g. Perl, python, TCL) or script based testing (e.g.TTCN etc.)
- A team player.
- Quality focused.
Desirable Experience:
- Understanding of either 2G (GSM, TDMA. PDC) or 3G (WCDMA) RAN mobile telephony feature, functions and protocols.
- Good understanding of 2G and 3G RAN functionality, features, protocols and specifications.
- Knowledge of radio network traffic generation or simulation tools.
- Knowledge of 3GPP specifications
- Previous radio network testing or development experience
- Knowledge of C++.
- Knowledge of Rational Rose (Real time)
- Use of faulting finding tools
