Linux administrator
What is needed to apply for this position:
- 2+ years experience critically analyzing and troubleshooting software and network issues in a Linux environment
- Install and maintain Linux servers and other applications.
- OS-level configuration tasks
- Experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment
- Enterprise level configuration management experience
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and a deep understanding of networking concepts
- Working knowledge of Java, Perl, Bash or other scripting languages
- Knowledge with remote server management
- Basic Cisco networking is a plus
What you'll be doing:
- Provide top level troubleshooting, and enhance the user experience
- Become a product expert for IBM software products running on Linux
- Install, configure, update and troubleshoot services for customers such as Apache, DB2, MySQL, FTP, DHCP and DNS
- Have opportunity to work with cutting edge technology in the cloud computing space
- Research and report open client issues
- Provide Support to customers via the telephone, chat and ticketing systems
- Conduct periodic technical IBM training, attending IBM courses and in house
Suitable candidate must have:
- Linux systems admin (RedHat, Suse), tcp/ip, HTTP/HTTPS, DHCP, SNMP, NFS knowledge
- Fundamental knowledge of servers/computers hardware and software
- Excellent problem solving skills with a desire to take on responsibility
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in Serbian and English) with ability to communicate technical issues to nontechnical and technical audiences
