E sad eventualno mozes da probas sa acpi_os_name kernel parametrom. acpi_os_name="Windows" ili Windows 2002 ili Windows 2006 (mada mislim da ti je to mator BIOS i da nema u DSDT tabeli grananje za vistu. Mozda i prodje...

Hvala probacu u svcakom slucaju pa javljam.Ako nista ne rodi plodom, ostaje varijanta poput debian-a i sl. mada od kako sam probao arch ne menja mi se :)

Probao sam, i daje polovicne/nestabilne rezultate.Cesto se zakuca kao pre, ali ume i da radi normalno kao npr.

Cak sam instalirao cpufrequtils i radio je bez problema sta god sam pokusao.

U medjuvremenu sam bio instalirao openSUSE 11.3 i na moje iznenadjenje radi prilicno normalno.11.2 nikako nije mogao da radi na ovom laptopu, imao je problem sa grafikom koju nakon prvog update-a nije bilo moguce koristiti bez zestokog smaranja.11.3 svaki put sve uredno prepozna.Ako se ne varam obe distribucije imaju 2.6.34 kernel

Ajde molim te ovako dugacke logove samo stavi u neki txt fajl pa uploaduj uz poruku

samo preusmeris izlaz u fajl recimo:

dmesg > dmesg.log.txt i posle ovaj txt uploadujes, preglednije je.

Ne znam da li trazim previse :) ali bilo bi dobro kada bi neko od uvazenih forumasa napisao licne korake postinstalacije arch-a, da ovi ostali "ucenici" pohvataju nesto korisno i da to prakticno implementiraju...
To jos fali ovoj temi :) A moze i da se realizuje kroz jedan clanak na blogu, vidim da vecina praktikuje pisanje na istom, pa eto ideje za naprednije blogere...

Inace, za sada nisam zadovoljan radom sa gnome okruzenjem, traljavo mi sve skupa izgleda, podize se sporije od ubuntu-a i djeluje mi nekako "nesigurno"..
No jos uvijek eksperimentisem, probavam dosta toga, pa vidjecemo konacni produkt i za nadati se da rezultat napora bude odlican. :)

Sta tacno mislis pod "post-instalacijom"? O cemu bi hteo da se pise?

U ovom thread-u je opisana osnovna instalacija core sistema,
i osnovna instalacija nekih od par najkoriscenijih grafickih okruzenja.
Dalje podesavanje zavise uglavnom od preferencija korisnika, kakva
podesavanja zeli, koje programe koristi, itd.

Pa konkretno na koji nacin neki od vas (nemaju svi volji i zelju da pisu svoje iskustvo) "peglaju" i optimizuju arch, dakle nakon osnovne instalacije (ovdje je opisana, odnosno sistem, driveri, pacman update, gnome, ......) koji su naredni koraci koji cinite, a ticu se sistema...

Znam da svi imaju licne preferencije, ali bih volio da uocim neke razlike i to sprovedem u djelo, jer imam utisak da sam nesto izostavio,... ali samo korake koji se ticu sistema, opis software-a u ovom slucaju nije potreban i cak sta vise, suvisan je.

Pa nema tu sta mnogo, ako si instalirao i podesio base sistem + recimo
GNOME ili KDE, to je otprilike to (a to je opisano sve u prvom postu).

E sad, jedna od "vecih" optimizacija je samostalno kompajliranje kernela,
jer je u Arch repo-ima onaj genericki. Dakle moze se izbaciti dosta nepotrebnih
stvari i malo "tweak"-ovati neke stvari (recimo ukljucis optimizaciju za svoj
tip procesora i jos neke stvari).

Sve ono sto ne spada u taj base ili core sistem, su vec razne
aplikacije, a to sve zavisi sta korisnik zeli da koristi i na koji nacin
pa onda prema tome podesava sistem.

Ja nesto ne verujem u koincidencije - to cas radi - cas ne radi ali moram da se slozim sa tobom, i meni jednom od 5 podizanja prodje kako treba - ostalo su sve crni ekrani bez nomodeset-a - sto nije slucaj na mom custom kernelu iako je isto 2.6.34.1. Tako da jbg, tough luck, juri sta radi od distroa (kao suse 11.3). Ali ako mozes ostavi taj arch neka ga, pa kad nalete nvidia 9x.xx za xserver 1.8 u repoe instaliraj ih i reci da li je problem resen. Zivo me interesuje da li je do nouveau-a (mada bre ne bi trebalo :D) ili je neka druga zezancija u pitanju (broken module ili nesto slicno sto ti pravi probleme).

Hah, ja kad bih ti opisao moj kompletan postupak instalacije arch-a smorio bih se ko cvarak :) Nisi nista izostavio - ovo sa prvog posta je sasvim dovoljno da bi podigao DE - sve posle toga je stvar korisnika sto kaze Srdjan i to ne spada u Arch tweaking vec u Linux tweaking.

Evo ja prvo sto uradim kad odradim core instalaciju je da zveknem svoj kernel da bi mi KMS radio kako treba. Zatim odmah ide sredjivanje cpufreq-a (da mi ne bi procesor zevao na 1.8GHz za dzabe), pa puknem X i Gnome i onda ide pickanje i software koji koristim kao i njihovo podesavanje. Sad kad bi isli u sitna crevca izlizao bih tastaturu :)

E cek sad ima i novi biser :)) Elem za ovaj laptop sam svojevremeno dobio pravi 64bit procesor.Athlon XP 64 3400+ . MB ga vidi, proccesor radi, i win i lin se boot-uju i rade, ali freq scaling ne radi.U windows-u se to elegantno resi rmclock-om dok u linuxu prica ne moze biti tako jednostavna..E sad cisto experimenta radi nabodem taj procesor instaliram 64 bit arch i radi bez ikakvih problema (ako se izuzme ovo sa freq scalingom) daklem jedan jedini put nije zakucao kao na 32bit verziji.Sada se razmisljam da uradi fallback na lts kernel mozda bude dalo rezultat ...

Dobra ideja, meni nije pala na pamet - LTS ti mozda (vrlo verovatno) odradi posao. Inace taj model laptopa je poznato da ima problema sa cpufreq scaling-om posto sam video patch-ovane DSDT tabele na kojima su to ACPI 'akeri ispravljali.

Uvijek zelim nauciti nesto vise od onih koji u tome jako dobro plivaju, zato sam i pitao to sto sam pitao.
Elem, mozda i ja nekada porastem, ako me ne ubije znatizelja i volja za ucenjem do tada :)

Nikada pre se nisam ozbiljnije interesovao za acpi, pa mi nije ni padalo na pamet da to pogledam.

Instalirao sam ja, nego nesto nisam zadovoljan performansama trenutno i nekako mi je sve za sada nedoreceno, no trudim se da dobijem zeljeni rezultat i sigurno cu u tome uspjeti.

Pojasni to malo oko nedorecenosti, tj. na sta konkretno mislis kada to kazes?Ja sam prilicno zadovoljan performansama arch-a.Distribucija nije bloatovana a jos manje heavy modovana kao vecina popularnih danas, pa je prilicno nenaporna i laka za odrzavanje.

Darn, to sam izgubio iz vida skroz :P
Posto moj lap ima Express slot za koji je zaduzen PCI hotplug u kernelu ili usb modul, zavisno od sistema koji koristi sam slot ;)
