Senior Software Engineer – Enterprise Applications

Based in Beverly Hills, California, the company is setting up a development team in Belgrade, Serbia, and is looking for forward thinking software engineers who wish to play a role in the development of next generation mobile applications. Position Summary
The candidate will design and develop cutting edge enterprise applications using Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), Java Servlets, Java Server Pages (JSP), Struts, JDBC, AJAX, and JSF. Development will include the implementation of web services and enterprise beans (EJB) for complex enterprise applications from concept to completion. The candidate will gather and analyze requirements; develop detailed functional and technical specifications; develop and debug from concept to completion the source code for enterprise applications that include web services and enterprise beans; deploy and test the enterprise applications onto a J2EE application server; participate in development and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts. The candidate will consult with other team members on the resolution of issues; implement deliverables to meet deadlines; and participate in configuration control and module management. The candidate should have strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight time constraints. Lastly, the candidate should be able to write clear technical design and specifications documents and solve technical problems that translate into solutions with clean and optimized code.
Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and test enterprise applications in Java with the J2EE application development platform.
* Perform code updates and maintain code quality.
* Write technical design and specifications documents in English.
* Identify project scope and time estimates.
* Interface and provide mentorship to other software engineers in order to resolve challenging technical issues.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and application server development is required that includes in depth knowledge of technologies such as EJB2.0, Servlets, JSP, Struts, JDBC, AJAX, and JSF.
* Thorough knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, common design patterns, and development lifecycles is required.
* Extensive experience with a popular J2EE Application Server variant, and JMS Server or messaging middleware is also required.
* Solid UNIX/Linux skills and experience with database modeling and programming is desired.
* Experience in Multimedia and Streaming technologies would be a definite plus.
* BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and dynamic working environment.
* Must have excellent written and oral English communication skills.
* Ability to work in collaborative environments.
