Amstrad 650 Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the 'Mac Menu' button to call up the menu.
Select the options 'Card', 'Card control' and then 'New secret code'.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide, however there are several things you should know...
Remote updates on the 650 is an long and sometimes annoying process.
Enter the key 4 digits at a time. You need to use the up/down function keys next to the 'Mac-Menu' key to select each digit. You also use the 'Mac-Menu' key to move to the next digit.
Once all 4 digits are correct, push 'Enter' and 'Mac-Menu', and the menu will then exit. This is quite normal.
Call up the 'Mac-Menu' again and repeat this process for the other six codes (4 digits each).
The picture should then decode in under 30 seconds if a valid key has been entered. However you may need to switch the receiver off and on again before a clear picture is shown.

Barcom MAC 301 and Salora MAC 3 Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press then 'Menu' button.
Select 'Access' and press the 'Index' button.
Select 'Change your code' and press the 'Index' button.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide. However after you have entered the 4 digits of each code you will have to select 'Change your code' again before entering the next code. Once all 7 codes of the key has been correctly entered then exit the menu and the card will be updated.

Churchill Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Use 'Menu' key until you get 'cass menu' on screen.
Press the down arrow to select it.
Using both 'Menu' and down arrow select 'cass consultation' then 'change secret code'.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide.
The menu will exit after each 4 digit code is entered.

Drake 800/2000 XT Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the 'CASS' button to call up the menu.
Select 'Access Menu' and then press the 'CASS' button.
Select 'Cass Control' and then press the 'CASS' button.
Select 'New Secret Code' and then press the 'CASS' button.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide.
However after you have entered each 4 digit code the menu will exit. So you will need to repeat the menu procedure before entering the remaining 6 codes.

Echostar SR/LT8700 Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press 'PPV'.
Use the down arrow to hightlight the lowest option and then press 'select'.
Choose the 4th option on this second menu by pressing the up arrow once and then pressing 'select'.
Now you are in the update menu where you can enter the update codes.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide, but enter the codes using the numeric keys on the remote.
After you have entered the 4 digits of the Multimac code then the menu will exit. So press 'PPV', 'select' and then 'select' again before entering the next code.
Also when entering the codes watch the screen carefully as the 8700 has a nasty habit of missing or skipping the digits.

Europlus Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the Green button to call up the menu.
Select the 'Access' option and press the Green button.
Select the 'Access Control' option and press the Green button.
Select the 'Change Code' option and press the Green button.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide. However you need to use the up and down arrow keys to change the digit and press the Green button to select the next digit.
After all 4 digits of the code have been entered then the menu will exit and you will have to repeat the process for the other 6 codes.

Force MacMaster 1000/2000 Remote Updates

Secret Menu :
Select 'Card Access'
Move the cursor to 'New code' (there will be 4 digits to the right of this)
Press OK, the 4 digits will be replaced with 1 digit with the cursor on it.
Enter the 4 digit code, then press OK.
Go back to point 4 until you have done all codes.

Grundig SRT 535/N MAC Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the 'Menu' button to call up the menu.
Select the 'Mac menu' and press Ok.
Select either 'Access menu 1' to update the card in the left card slot, or select 'Access menu 2' to update the card in the right card slot.
Press Ok once you have selected the card to be updated.
Select 'Access' and press Ok.
Select 'New secret' and press Ok.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide. However it is recommend that you remove the card from the other card before you enter Multimac commands in the in the New Secret code section.

Luxor Mac 3 Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the Menu button.
Choose the Yellow button for access.
Press + for mark gratification.
Press Index.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide.
However after entering each 4 digit code, you will need to press + and Index before entering the next code.
Once all 7 codes have been entered then you will need to exit the menu.

Luxor Mac IV CS Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the 'Menu' button to call up the menu.
Choose 'Access'.
Choose 'Gratification'.
Choose 'Change your code'.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide.
However after entering each code you will need to enter it a second time as confirmation before it is accepted. The menu will then exit, so you will then need to repeat the menu procedure before entering the remaining 6 codes.

Macab NRF 500, 530, 600, 660 and 700 Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the 'Menu' button to call up the menu.
Select 'Upper/lower card info'.
Press the 'Maclock' button and enter the code 0000.
Select 'New code'.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide. However after you have entered each 4 digit code you will need to press the Save button twice.
The message 'Smartcard wrong' will then be shown, but this should be ignored.
To enter the remaining codes then you will need to select 'New code' after each code entry.
Once all codes have been entered then the menu should be manually exited.

Nokia MAC V Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Call up the menu.
Select 'Access' and press Ok.
Select either the upper or lower card.
Select 'Access menu' and press Ok.
Press the right arrow key.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide. However after you have entered each 4 digit code then you will need to enter it a second time before you are returned to the menu.
To enter the remaining codes you will then need to press the right arrow key again.
Once all codes have been entered then press the 'TV/Sat' key to exit the menu.

Nokia 8003S Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the 'Menu' key to call up the menu.
Select 'Access' and press OK.
Select 'Access Control' and press OK.
Select 'Change Code' and press the right arrow key.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide.
However the receiver always asks to confirm the codes, it means that each code has to be entered twice the second time to confirm the first entry of the code when prompted.
Press 'TV / Sat' to exit the menus when you have finished.

Nokia 9800/9860 Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the 'Menu' key to call up the menu.
Select 'Conditional Access' and press OK.
Select 'Viaccess Embedded' and press OK.
Select 'Smart Card Settings' and press OK.
Select 'Change Smart Card Code' and press OK.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide.
However the receiver always asks to confirm the codes, it means that each code has to be entered twice the second time to confirm the first entry of the code when prompted.
Press 'EXIT / TV' to exit the menus when you have finished.

Pace D55, D150, D155 Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the 'Menu' button to call up the menu.
Use the 'Menu' button to highlight Access Menu.
Press the 'Adjust +' button to select.
Use the 'Menu' button to highlight CASS Control.
Press the 'Adjust +' button to select.
Use the 'Menu' button to highlight New Secret Code.
Press the 'Adjust +' button to select.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide.
However when you first come to enter a code you will see a 0 digit and you will need to press the Menu button to change this to the value you require.
Once you have the correct digit shown then press the Adjust + button to move to the next digit.
When the 4 digit code has been entered and you have pressed the Adjust + button for the fourth time then the code will be saved and you will then need to repeat the process for the other six codes.
After entering the final code and the menu is exited then the picture should clear in under 30 seconds.

Phillips BDE353 Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the 'Menu' key to call up the menu.
Press the '4' key if you want to update the card on the front, or press the '5' key if you want to update the card on the rear.
Wait until the next menu is shown and then select '2' change secret code.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide.
However you may need to enter the code up to 3 times before it is accepted. It will return to menu selection screen when it is accepted, and then you should select '2' again and proceed to enter the next code.

Phillips CTU900 Remote Updates

Now the CTU900 is a strange beast and was originally made as a cable box, so in its original form without being modified, it is not the best suited for satellite TV. The manual which comes with it is usually in Dutch, so is not much help.
The picture quality varies from unit to unit, and upgrades are available to fix this.
Also in early versions a resistor was missing which prevented Eurocrypt S2 cards from working.
There are several other minor problems wrong with this transcoder as well, and many people offer to fix these for you at a price. See the satellite news-groups for more details.
Or if you know a bit about electronics, or at least have used a soldering iron before, then you can fix these yourself for only a few pence. (for resistors and capacitors).
Here is a list of all the fixes that you can do (with difficulty level if I have done this upgrade myself)....
Eurocrypt S2 problem. (1 Resistor, Easy peezy lemon squeezy fix)
Grainy picture problem. (1 Capacitor, Easy fix)
Flickering problem. (1 Capacitor swap, Quite a tough upgrade)
12v not on pin 8 problem. = No picture. (Piece of wire, Never tried)
PAL Baseband upgrade. (2 Resistors + 1 Capacitor, Never tried)
Flat Baseband upgrade. (2 Resistors + 1 Capacitor, Never tried)
Others...
If you are sure you want to do these fixes/upgrades yourself then visit SatCure.
However overall the CTU900 is a good transcoder which supports many features not found on other transcoders/decoders. So is worth getting one if you look after it.
If fact with all the mods and the soon to be released second working cards lot upgrade, it is turning out to be a damned good unit at a cheap price.
Secret Menu Access : (however it's not secret)
Call up the menu.
Select 'Read card' and press OK.
(Card Reader : ) Select card and press OK.
Select 'Changing your code' and press OK.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide, however there are several things you should know...
As you enter a code 4 star symbols will appear '****'.
Press 'OK' to confirm each code, the menu will exit to the normal channel viewing screen.
You only need to enter each code once.
Only enter codes in the long black bar, do not press 'OK' to an empty long bar and enter codes in the short black bar that appears. This short black bar and the short black confirm bar should not be used as it can do bad things to the card. Eg it can erase every key on the card or worse.
If when you enter valid MultiMac codes in the long black bar it enters the screen with the short black bar, this means the update has failed and you cannot remote update this card. Do not enter codes in the short black bar.
It is possible to enter more then one code at a time in the long black bar, but this may not work every time.

Phillips STU902 (ex BSB) Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Call up the menu.
Select 4 (Access).
Select 0 (Change access criterias)
Select 2 (Change pin code)
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide.
However once you have entered the first 4 digit code then press Enter to confirm the code. You will then need to select 2 (Change pin code) each time before entering the remaining 6 codes.
Once all 7 codes have been entered then press View to exit and wait the 30 seconds and if the picture does not clear then try entering the first code again, as this is usually required.

Triasat SR 4007 Remote Updates

Secret Menu Access :
Press the 'Menu' button to call up the menu.
Select 'Mac Menu' and press Ok.
Select 'Access Menu 1' to update the card in the left slot, or 'Access Menu 2' to update the card in the right slot. Press Ok.
Select 'Access' and press Ok.
Select 'New Secret' and press Ok.
Update Procedure :
You should follow the General guide.
However you will need to enter each code twice before moving on to the next code.
Once all codes have been entered then exit the menu and the channel should clear in under 30 seconds.
Also it is recommended that the card in the other slot is removed before any update codes are entered
