Hi,
I just compiled the First CVS image ever with new squashfs v2.2
1) Why I did it?
Simple.... squashfs 2.0 (provided with actual CVS by Dream Multimedia) has proved to be bugged.
Even if it is used on flash images it works properly (or, at least, there are not known issues about it), it absolutely DON'T work if used for installing multiboot images.
Said in other words: it fails when you try to extract files from the squashfs partition, to copy them on multiboot install on usb od hdd or nfs devices.
This bug it's a very nasty one, because it is hard to reproduce, since it gives unpredictable results, every time different results.
So you can have a perfect install of an image, then some corrupted installs of the very same image (on the very same device, with the very same image in flash).
Every time the result is unpredictable, and mostly fails to install the multiboot images.
I am talking of that squashfs2.0 bug from months ago, every question about FlashWizard's corrupted install was answered by me to be a squashfs problem, not a FlashWizard bug.
So, since it is just released an updated squashfs2.2 version, I decided to build a CVS image with this new one, to be used as universal flash image.
I also finished a new FlashWizard PRO 5.1 (I will upload it in a couple of days), which, in addition, has an Advanced Secure install procedure, and tests all the installed files against corrupted ones.
2) How can be used this CVS image?
You can actually use this image ONLY in flash (because it carries the most advanced squashfs version: of course, old images in flash will not install it on multiboot).
But, when you installed this image in flash, you'll be able to install in multiboot ALL images available nowadays, included ruDream images WITHOUT repacking (as they are), and this one CVS image itself, plus all others with older squashfs.
All images will install ERRORS-FREE (this is important).
With squashfs 2.2 all bugs seems to be definitely gone.

4) WARNING
Being this image built with a new squashfs filesystem, you probably will need to re-install all your multiboot images from scratch.
Even if it is not necessary in some cases, I strongly recommend to do it, even better to re-format your usb stick too when you installed this image in flash.
Then, better redo a clean install of your multiboot images, having this one in flash.
I tried all the most popular images with this one in flash, installed with FW:
all are working perfectly, without any problem.
