Database Developer (Administrator)
We are a rapidly growing software company looking for dedicated and skilled IT personnel to support our dynamic software for the service industry.
The company is looking for a DBA who will be working remotely (from home) as part of the Network and Database Services team. The DBA will report to the Lead Database Engineer. This position will aid the Lead Database Engineer in maintaining highly professional database environments. The DBA will also work closely with .NET developers to ensure their database related code is following standards and to ensure their development environments are functional and secure. The successful candidate will be able to absorb and communicate complex technical information quickly and effectively. He/she must also be able to accurately diagnose and resolve problems either individually or as a part of a team with minimal guidance. Some of the role responsibilities:
• Take over Database Administration activities on the Test, Development and Staging Environments.
• Aid in the design, development and implementation of different tools and deployment procedures to ease the administration of numerous database servers.
• Document existing and future database systems.
• Troubleshoot database related technical issues on a flexible schedule.
• Perform basic TSQL code review and execution plan analysis for TSQL code
Role Requirements:
• Preferably 1-2 years administering MS SQL 2005 and 2008 servers.
• Experience in TSQL programming (optimizing stored procedures, functions etc.).
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience with web technologies such as IIS, .NET would be useful.
• Basic knowledge of .NET programming would be useful.
• Must be able to work US office hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST but there is flexibility).
• Must have excellent command of English, both speaking and writing.
• Must have a working computer and a reliable high-speed internet connection.
